Chalkworks Rory MacDonald
A solo exhibition of cast porcelain ceramics by Rory MacDonald. An examination of ceramic surface as a recorder for the present these works interrogate the images of ceramic decoration of the past, within a fragile and even fugitive surface. By their very design like a chalkboard, these pieces become a site of changing images.

The Making of History and Artifacts (1888-1926): The Photography of John Cooper Robinson from Meiji-Taisho Japan
John Cooper Robinson, an accountant and Canadian missionary, lived in Japan during the Meiji Restoration from 1888 until his death in 1926. This exhibition of his photography provides an exemplary opportunity to explore the unique history of his journey in Japan. They are equally artifacts that invite an affective encounter with the intersubjective narratives of culture and temporality.

June 10-July 24
Inspired

The Reclaimers
Welcome to the wonderful world of the reclaimers...Mention recycling and one's mind drifts to notions of sorting tin cans and bundling newspapers. The artists in this exhibition straddle a line between fine craft and fine art, weaving ideas and materials together, breaking rules, transforming the old and cast off into the new, the quirky, the beautiful.

March 4-April 17
Vessel
The concern with life and the present moment, performed through virtuosic embroidery, also describes the work of Merydie Fjarlie and Cynthia Jackson. In their hands the latent three-dimensionality of embroidery springs forward into fully realised sculptural forms. - Sarah Alford
