Nicholas Rosin BFA

Exploring textures and patterns used in the jewellery technique of engraving, Nicholas Rosin creates ornate vessels and functional objects. Rosin has recently taken part in the 2016 NSSCD summer residency and currently furthers his practice in the Garrison Artists Annex at the Halifax Seaport.

16. Keepsake

Create your very own keepsake capsule! Using a variety of metalsmithing techniques, forming, texturing, and finish a small box or capsule for what you hold near and dear. Students will be guided through concept and fabrication. Makes a great gift for family, partners, or yourself. Suitable for all skill levels.

17. Introduction to Engraving

NEW!  Students will be taught how to make their very own engraving tool then engrave a piece of jewellery. A variety of cutting techniques as well as methods of design and layout will be covered.  There will be plenty of time for practice and explore the offered techniques through samples and exercises.

NEW!  Create your very own sterling silver pin/ brooch through methods of simple metal folding. NO SOLDERING NECESSARY. Design your pin through methods of cutting and piercing. Beginners or advanced individuals who want to explore a fast-personalized production with great results.
