Anne-Sophie Vallée BFA

Anne-Sophie Vallée is a jewellery artist from Sherbrooke, Canada. Her first exposure to metalsmithing was in 2008 at UNAM (Universidad Autónoma de Mexíco), in the metal department of Taxco, Mexico. She obtained a collegial diploma in Craft with focus on Jewelry from Cégep du Vieux-Montréal in partnership with School of Jewellery of Montreal in 2011. She is a recent graduate from NSCAD University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, and holds a BFA with major in Jewellery Design and Metalsmithing. She started the artist-in-residence program at the Harbourfront Center, Toronto, in September 2016. Vallée has shown her work in Montreal, Toronto, Halifax, Vancouver, Chicago and Barcelona.

Current / Upcoming Courses

14. Silver Chain

Students will acquire the knowledge to transform sterling silver into a 16” chain and a simple clasp. They will experience the step-by-step process of pouring an ingot and fabricating jump rings. During the class, techniques such as sawing, soldering and finishing will be taught to bring the student to realize a stunning hand-crafted piece of jewellery.

15. Geometric Earrings and Pendants

During this workshop, participants will realize a set of earrings and a pendant in silver, exploring the creation of 3-dimensional form through metal bending and soldering. Students will learn the ‘score and bend’ technique to accomplish a perfect 90º fold in metal by perfecting filing skills. This class will provide an overview of different types of findings such as earrings hooks and bails for pendants.
